Queenzy Cheng (莊群施) takes a breather from M-Girls, breaking traditions by releasing 2018 You Are The Best! Chinese New Year album

Kuala Lumpur, — Malaysian artiste, Queenzy Cheng (莊群施) is set to release a new breakthrough in the Chinese New Year album market with lively festive tunes, innovative filming and editing techniques. The 2018 YOU ARE THE BEST! 《今年你最好》 album presents 5 mandarin traditional festive tunes and 2 original mandarin composition by award winning songwriter and composer, Ang Chee Ciang (邓智彰) and Wong Chee Seong (王昱享).

Having released more than 30 albums over the last two decades, Queenzy believes in the elusive power of music and lyrics that can brought upon her listeners’ heart, soul and mind. Therefore, she had invited her fans to participate by contributing lyrics to the “O! Let’s Go” song. This song was filmed using original vintage outfits dated back from the 1920s all the way till 2038!

Queenzy believes in the sprit of teamwork. Thus, she had invited her friends to participate in this album. Featuring guest celebrities such as Wei Wei (⼩薇薇), John Wee (黄俊源) and Tedd Chan (曾国辉), this collaboration is poised to bring in auspicious energies for a prosperous new year. Riding on the success of Queenzy’s illustrious career as a recording artiste, she is also ready to impart her experiences and knowledge specially to groom new talents. She invited 8 of her students from GAPS Studio to participate in one of the songs.

As the Social Ambassador of Resorts World Genting, Queenzy took the opportunity to film the remaining 6 songs, 6000 feet above sea level. Together with a childhood friend, Dolphin Pern who directed the entire production; they challenged themselves taking a paradigm shift in filming lunar new year the unconventional approach – narrative storytelling, westernised meals, pastel colours and figurative expressions.

Queenzy would like to take this opportunity to express here deepest gratitude and appreciation to the team behind the scenes, some of them whom have collaborated for over two decades! Not forgetting, her fans who have always been very supportive. She believes that YOU ARE THE BEST!

The first nationwide roadshow will be held at AEON Mall, Kepong on January 6, 2018 at 5:00pm.
